Kerry Washington kam am 31. Januar 1977 in New York, USA zur Welt. Sie machte ihren Abschluss in Theaterwissenschaften an der George Washington University. Im Alter von 17 Jahren began sie mit der Schauspielerei und hatte seitdem mehrere größere TV-und Film-Rollen. Darunter zählen Auftritte in "Psych", "The Guardian - Retter mit Herz", "Django Unchained" und ihre Hauptrolle in der ABC-Dramaserie "Scandal". 2024 übernahm Washington eine Hauptrolle in dem Netflix-Film "The Six Triple Eight".
