Interview with Sammi Hanratty

We got the opportunity to do an interview with Sammi Hanratty, who plays young Chuck in the colorful new series "Pushing Daisies". The young actress talked about the Casting for the new show, her Hobbies and about her hopes for her future.

1. You started acting at a very young age. When and why did you decide to become an actor? And is it something you want to do your entire life?

I’ve wanted to be an actress since I was two years old. I love being able to play lots of different characters. This is definitely something I want to do my entire life!

2. Imagine yourself in 10 years, where do you see yourself?

I will have just graduated from college and will still be acting.

3. What do you do when you are not at work? What are your hobbies?

When I’m not acting, I love to swim, ice skate, or hang out with friends.

4. You and Danielle, one of your four older sisters, starred together on "The Unit". What is it like to work with your sister and would you like to do it more often?

It’s fun working with Danielle. We hang out together between scenes. We’ve actually worked together on two other jobs too.

5. Who would you like to work with in the future that you haven't worked with so far and why?

I would love to work with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. I think they are so talented.

6. How did the writers strike affect you?

It didn’t affect me as much as it did other actors. I was working on a few movies during that time.

7. When you first read the script of "Pushing Daisies" what did you think?

I thought it was amazing. I really wanted to get the part because it is such a different kind of show. I’m really proud to be a part of it.

8. How was the audition for "Pushing Daisies"?

In the audition scene I had to pretend to be Godzilla and stomp on pretend houses. My character’s name is Chuck, so I actually say, "I’m Chuck-zilla". It was pretty fun!

9. I guess a question you need to answer a lot: What is your favourite kind of pie?

Apple Pie

10. Can you give us some scoop about next season?

There are a lot of new twists and surprises. Everyone should be really excited about it.

11. Do you have any new projects you can tell us about?

I have a movie coming out in January for the American Girl Company. I’m really excited about it
