You started as an actor early in your life. What was your inspiration?

I'd known I wanted to be an actor every since the age of three. It was the surest thing I knew. I often say it is was destined for me by God because I knew so early on without a doubt.

Are there any other artists in your family?

There are no other artists in my immediate family. My wife however is also an actor.

What does the "J" in J. Mallory McCree stand for?

The "J" stands for Jamal.

As one can read on your homepage, you don't only act in front of a camera but also on stage. What are the pros and cons?

I absolutely love all mediums of acting. I'd say that the pros of working on stage are you really get to live and breathe a character everyday for months at a time always discovering something new each time you take that journey every night. And there is no better feeling than living honestly in from moment to moment in front of a live audience that too becomes your acting partner. You really get to grow in the theatre. My only con with theatre is I'm ready to live a different journey after about a month of performances. Television and film are fascinating because the characters are always moving forward and changing depending on circumstance. However, unlike the stage you only get to do your scenes once; so you better be great!

Working on Broadway and seeing the audiences' response must be a great experience. Do you sometimes have stage fright or do you just enjoy the limelight?

I never get stage fright nor do I think it's necessarily about absorbing the limelight. I do get a whiff of nerves but I put it into the work, throw my hands up and let the adrenaline take over, remind myself to have fun and go out there and try to tell the story as honestly as I can. I can only hope the audience is enjoying it as we take the ride.

Which role you played did you like the most so far?

I'd say my most favorite role to date is 'Charlie Price' on "Quantico".

Do you like to watch your performances in your free time?

I only watch my performances once when it airs or screens. And mostly I'm looking at ways to perfect my work. I learn what works and what doesn't and then I leave it alone.

You are part of the cast of "Quantico". How do you like working there?

I LOVE IT! The creators, writers and cast are all extremely talented and committed to telling this story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Your character Charlie Price is very difficult to assess so far. How would you describe him?

I'd describe Charlie as a Rubix Cube. Certainly a complex kid trying to make sense of his life, wanting to make progress but being shutdown at every turn.

Do you have a theory, who the bomber is?

Oh no!!! Creator Joshua Safran has done an amazing job keeping that info tightly sealed. I'm anxious each time I receive a new script!

How are things going behind the scenes of "Quantico"? What would people not know about the show?

I think folks would want to know that I am working with the kindest cast one could ask for. Truly great actors that are nothing like their characters in reality. Except they really are all SEXY!!

Since myFanbase is an online magazine about tv shows, we would like to know what your favorite shows are?

My favorite shows are "The Knick" on Cinemax; "Rectify" on Sundance; "Ray Donovan" on Showtime and of course "GAME OF THRONES" on HBO!!!

Thank you so much for making time for us, Mallory, we wish you all the best!
